A JM Audio passou a representar em Portugal a conceituada marca de cabos Americana Audience. ABOUT AUDIENCE Audience was formed in November of 1997 as a design and production company focused on building the best possible audio and video equipment. To pass the Audience test, each product must truly make a significant contribution to the reproduction of audio and/or video. Over the years, Audience has been known for making cables, optical disk resolution enhancement (the Auric Illuminator) and high resolution capacitors. We have more recently begun producing power conditioners. Audience was co-founded by John McDonald and the late Richard Smith. Like most people in the high-end AV market, John McDonald was attracted to the industry by the music. Although he describes himself as more of a businessman than an audiophile, John believes music is one of the biggest connections between people. John became involved in the business by knowing people who had a talent for designing products that sounded very natural to his ear. Between late co-founder Richard Smith and current electronics engineer, Roger Sheker, Audience brings approximately 60 years of design experience to the Audiophile community. Neither of these two distinguished gentlemen had formal engineering training. However, both are considered to be “out-of-the-box” thinkers, which is clearly reflected in the uniqueness of all Audience products. When Audience develops a product, no consideration is given to the end price until the product is finished. Focus is placed on developing the very best product possible; then the price is based on cost. Audience is very committed to strong customer service, product support and to backing our warranties. All Audience cables have an unconditional lifetime warranty and power conditioners have a ten year warranty.

O novo DACM192MK2 substitui o actual modelo M192 DAC no catálogo da North Star Design com o mesmo preço de venda de 1.350,00€ (IVA incluído).
Na área digital este novo conversor pode ser considerada uma sintese do EXTREMO DAC com a mesma etapa de saída analógica do leitor de CD's SAPPHIRE mantendo-se a mesma caixa do M192. A North Star manteve o mesmo número de entradas digitais, consistindo em 2 entradas coaxiais SPDIF (RCA), 1 entrada óptica, 1 entrada balanceada (XLR) e 1 entrada I2S (RJ45). Relativamente à versão anterior este novo M192MKII já vem equipado com saídas analógicas balanceadas XLR.
Tal como o EXTREMO DAC o M192MKII mantêm o mesmo receptor digital, Cirrus CS8416 e o separador magnético da Analog Devices ADUM1400CRW na entrada I2S. Depois do Receptor Digital foi utilizado o upsampler da Analog Devices, o AD1895 e o Conversor Digital/Analógico PCM1796 em configuração mono. A etapa de saída analógica mantém a mesma topologia balanceada utilizada no CD Saffire.
Com este novo DAC, a North Star Design apresenta no mercado um conversor com um nível de qualidade semelhante ao EXTREMO DAC a um preço bastante competitivo, oferecendo todas as condições para um ser um "Best Buy".
